What are the advantages and disadvantages of diaphragm type pressure reducing valves?
Diaphragm type pressure reducing valves generally refer to those where the element that drives the movement of the valve core is a diaphragm. The diaphragms can be made of rubber or metal. For normal temperature media, rubber diaphragms are generally used, such as water, air, and nitrogen. For high-temperature media, metal diaphragms are usually adopted, such as steam. The advantages of diaphragm pressure reducing valves are that they are flexible in action, sensitive to pressure changes, and suitable for medium and low pressure working conditions. There is no stuck phenomenon like that in piston type pressure reducing valves. The disadvantage is that it can only be used in medium and low pressure working conditions. When the pressure is high, a piston structure should be adopted. Sometimes the diaphragm may be damaged, causing the pressure reducing valve to fail.
