Common faults of solenoid valves in oxygen generators are as follows

solenoid valve

I. Coil burnout. This is a relatively common problem. It may be due to moisture in the coil, which causes poor insulation and magnetic leakage, resulting in excessive current in the coil and burnout. It may also be due to reasons such as overly hard springs, excessive reaction forces, too few turns of the coil, and insufficient suction force, causing the coil to be in an abnormal working state for a long time and be burned out. The wiring of the solenoid valve can be removed and measured with a multimeter. If there is an open circuit, it indicates that the solenoid valve coil is burned out.

II. Loose wiring terminals or fallen wire ends: This leads to the solenoid valve not being energized and thus unable to operate normally. In this case, it is necessary to check and tighten the wire ends.

III. Stuck spool: The fit clearance between the spool sleeve and spool of the solenoid valve is very small. When mechanical impurities are brought in or there is too little lubricating oil, the spool is easily stuck, making the solenoid valve unable to operate normally. The solenoid valve can be removed, and the spool and spool sleeve can be taken out and cleaned with CCI4 to make the spool move flexibly in the spool sleeve.

IV. Damaged sealing gaskets or worn spools can cause air leakage faults due to gas leakage between several cavities. Air leakage will cause insufficient air pressure, making it difficult to open and close the relevant valves of the oxygen generator and affecting the normal operation of the oxygen generator. It is necessary to handle this when the solenoid valve is de-energized by replacing the sealing gasket or repairing the spool and other components.

V. Excessive noise: If the solenoid valve is not firmly installed, it will generate vibration during operation and thus emit relatively loud noise. It is necessary to check the installation position of the solenoid valve to ensure it is firmly installed. Voltage fluctuations outside the allowable range, or impurities or unevenness on the iron core suction surface can also cause noise during the operation of the solenoid valve.

VI. Abnormal flow: It may be that the internal channel of the solenoid valve is blocked by impurities, resulting in reduced or obstructed flow of gas or liquid. The solenoid valve needs to be cleaned to remove internal impurities. Worn or damaged spools can cause the solenoid valve to be unable to accurately control the flow, resulting in situations of excessive or too small flow. At this time, it is necessary to repair or replace the spool.
