How to choose a ventilator? How to choose a sleep ventilator that suits you?
What's the difference between single-level and double-level ventilators? Should I choose double-level or single-level? CPAP or APAP? With this article, Xiao Ke will help you understand the differences between these.
Home sleep ventilators are divided into single-level ventilators and double-level ventilators.
Single-level: The treatment mode only provides one treatment pressure, which can produce continuous and stable air pressure. This pressure opens up the upper airway and keeps the user's respiratory tract unobstructed. During the treatment process, the output pressure is always maintained within the set pressure range, and the treatment pressure remains unchanged when the user inhales and exhales.
Double-level: The treatment mode provides two treatment pressures, "inspiratory pressure" and "expiratory pressure". The two pressures are set separately, reducing the discomfort that users may experience when exhaling while using a continuous positive pressure (single-level) ventilator, matching the user's breathing, and personalized customization of the best human-machine synchronization according to the respiratory sensitivity specificity, making breathing more comfortable and natural.
No matter what level it is, there are also semi-automatic and fully automatic versions.
Semi-automatic: Regardless of the degree of sleep apnea or the severity of snoring, the treatment pressure of the ventilator remains unchanged at the preset value, providing a stable but relatively basic treatment method.
Fully automatic: It can dynamically adjust the output pressure according to the user's airway resistance and breathing frequency (single-level is one pressure, and double-level is two pressures), accurately open up the upper airway, and ensure that the treatment pressure changes flexibly according to the user's needs, thereby improving the comfort and effect of treatment.
l CPAP, APAP and BiPAP modes
CPAP and APAP: Both belong to the single-level ventilator mode and provide constant pressure support. The difference is that APAP is fully automatically adjustable and can automatically adjust the pressure according to the user's breathing situation, while CPAP is a fixed pressure setting.
BiPAP: As the representative mode of double-level ventilators, it not only provides two independently set pressure stages, but also includes advanced modes such as S/T/ST. These modes are especially suitable for patients who need adjuvant treatment for lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Through more refined pressure control, more efficient respiratory assistance effects can be achieved.
